Lots of short period, lumpy waves. Lots of variety too; waist to chest to head to plus size surf. Poor shape; poor conditions. Moderate offshores blowing the tops off the surf but not helping much in the shape/ form department. Lots of whitewater too. In a word: junky. One person out at the reef; about 5 or so at Tres Palms. Tide is falling and will reach its 0.4 low around 10:30am. Then back up to a 3.7 high around 5:30pm. Max tide push (0.9kts) around 2:30pm.

Size uptick but not as clean and the swell period has shortened up. Waist to chest with some larger sets. More westerly swell so the shape is not what it was with that underlying south over the last few days. Light riffle on the water; no wind. Tide is rising to a 4.6 high at 10am then backing off to a 0.8 low at 3:30pm. Light crowd; only 10 people out.

Very clean. Very nice. Waist to shoulder high with some underlying south swell to add some of that famous DM shape to the lefts that are running down the reef. Some larger sets. Glassy sea surface conditions, no wind. Everyone is raving about their session. Guess it's good. 12 people out. Incoming tide (4.8 at 8:45am). Low tide shows up at 2:45pm; 0.3.

Lazy surf in the thigh to waist high zone with a smooth sea surface. Some larger sets. High tide has it backing off some but still some good shoulders and corners. Tide is just about at its 4.8 foot peak. From there it will back off to a low of 0.1 at 2:30 pm. 6 people out.

Lots and lots of waves. Surf? Not so much. Short period energy producing back to back to back head to overhead waves. Closed out and warbly for the most part. Not providing much in the way of rideable surf. Moderate sea surface chop, backwash and a whole lot of whitewater. Rough, very rough. Tide is high but on the way out to a 0.0 low at noon. Next high tide will be at 7pm (4.8). 2 people out.

Reporting from Terra Mar this morning. Waist to chest high wind swell surf with the perfect tide for TM. Surf is peaky at Middles; more lined up at Igors. Light SW breeze with just a hint of sea surface bump. Only 10 people out. Tide is on the way out to a 0.0 foot level at 11:30am then back up to a 4.1 high at 6:30pm.

Coming up on a negative tide and the surf is knee to waist high and weak. But it's not crowded. Glassy conditions; no wind. And first day of good water quality since last week's rain. So it's not pretty but might be worth it just to get wet.

If only the water quality was better. Some nice looking wind swell peaks cruising in this morning. Knee to waist high, decent taper and shoulders. But in my estimation water quality is still poor but should be tolerable by tomorrow. So in the meantime get out there and walk or run; a nice wide beach with sparkling new sand awaits. Tide is low (-0.6) right now. Next high tide is at 2pm (3.8 feet).

Calm, glassy conditions. Very lazy 1-2 foot surf. Water quality is off the charts bad. Lots of new sand on the beach and (I can hardly believe it) no one out.

Bring your small wave gear. 1, maybe 2 feet at best. But there are some pop up peaks that offer a short, slow ride. Sea surface is glassy and the tide is rising. Overcast with scattered sprinkles. 7 people out. Tide will peak at 10am (5.8 feet) and beginning dropping out at 1:30pm with the low at 4pm (-0.3 feet).

Still some swell out there but this mornings high tide has gobbled it up. Some chest to shoulder high sets that just show and roll. Smooth sea surface conditions with a light westerly breeze. The fog has rolled back and the sun is out. Four people out.

It sounds smaller than this past weekend; can't say for sure though. Too foggy. No wind, dense fog. Incoming tide which will reach its max 5.6 level around 8am. Max ebb at at 11:30 am and out to a -0.6 low at 2:15pm.

Its as bad today as it was good yesterday. Junky, mixed up and unfocused shoulder to head high surf. The inside is a mass of white water and rips. The outside is lined up and closing out. Not much in between. Shoulda been here yesterday. About 5 people out.
