NW Swell Lights Up North West Shore of Maui

The swell arrived late Wednesday afternoon and continued to build throughout the night.  Thursday morning dawn broke and it was clean, it was big, it was loud and it was beautiful.  And the locals were all over it.  Here are some photos from a secret, mysto spot (not); see if you can guess where.  Shouldn't be that hard if you've ever been to Maui or looked at a Surfer mag in the past 30 years.

Normally placid, crystal clear bays were now not.  Lots of snorkeling trips got cancelled today!

Hint:  the first three are not at the mysto spot; I took those at Napili Point, which I have never ever seen break before.

Ok, on to the mysto spot:
3 lines ups; lots of waves and crowds to match

The middle line up

Is he praying?

Stacked up all the way across the channel to Molokai

Shacked in the middle line up in the middle of the day while a monster looms outside

Outside line up at the point

Hard to believe, but this is the inside lineup!

Fun with fish

Triple overhead and crowded

Middle line up

This guy had the inside wired!

Classic form, classic wave

At the point

Around the point; very large

At the point

At the point; try to track high enough to miss the rock
Have a good one
Aloha
