Extremely crowded! 50+ people out in chest to head high surf. Fair shape; could use more tide. Plenty of waves; closed out sets. Smooth sea surface conditions with some light swirling eddy winds. Best bet to try to avoid the crowd seems to be south of peak and in front of the grass. Grey overcast skies. Tide low but rising to a 5.1 high at noon then ebbing to 1.7 feet at 6pm.

Looks like the south swell is too steep for Del Mar. So we are left with knee to waist high westerly wind swell. Breaking close in with crumbly shape. Some rare peaks on the outside. But it's not crowded; 7 people out. Sea surface is lumpy; no wind. Tide is on the rise to 5.1 feet at 11am. 1.5 low at 4:30pm. Overcast but clearing skies.

Complete opposite of yesterday; it's lumpy, choppy and small. Knee to waist high lumps struggling shoreward. Wind swirling around from all directions and low tide. A below average surfing day. Next high tide (5.0) will show up at 10:30am then back out to a 1.5 low at 4pm. 13 people out.

Fat, waist to chest high surf. Powered by a decent south swell. But as you would expect, long lulls between sets with little in-between. Glassy sea surface; no wind. Best lefts are peeling off just south of the reef; steepest waves and best close outs are right on the reef. The line up is packed and snakes abound. Skies are clearing and it looks like the surf fishing is pretty good. Tide is coming up and will peak at 4.9 feet around 10am. Low will be 1.6 feet at 3pm.
