Short period

Westerly wind-swell predominates this morning. 1-2 second intervals. And along with that wind-swell we have NNW wind. Knee to waist high, poor to fair shape with fair, moving rapidly to poor, conditions. 14 people out. Widely scattered across the reef. Very slow, very weak.

And they're off!

As locals brace for a day of traffic gridlock (today is opening day at Del Mar. Is your bonnet good to go?) there is no such problem in the line up this morning. 4 people out in some very small (ankle to knee) wind swell lines. Playing out its final moments as a shore dump. Very clean conditions with a slight westerly breeze beginning to pick up. Like yesterday, there is a rare south set rolling through but it never amounts to much.

What a difference a day makes...

On shore eddy winds have put some chunk on the water this morning. Thigh to waist high crumblers trying desperately to be surfable waves. Looks like mostly windswell with a very rare set wave from the south. Poor shape, poor conditions. If you're looking for some junky surf, today is the day. On the other hand if you've got things to do this morning you won't be missing anything here.

Good conditions

Glassy, waist to chest with fair shape. A tad more consistent than yesterday and way less crowded; 6 people out. Doubling up some and the tide is dropping. The sun has just poked over the hill warming things up nicely
