WT...?

So the swell has begun to show itself but conditions are very poor. WNW winds at about 4-5 mph have put a heavy chop on the water; on the verge of being blown out. The swell lines are very long, producing chest to shoulder high crumblers with poor shape and not much of a ride. Disappointing to say the least.

As you watch this youtube video, think of surfers as the dog and surf prognosticators as the voice speaking to the dog. That's what I feel like anyway.

Not yet...

Small and windy. West wind at about 3-4 mph already here and stirring things up. Lumpy/bumpy ankle to knee high shore break is what's for breakfast. But the sea sprites are telling me that "the swell of the summer" is on it's way and should start showing later today. Time will tell. Time will tell.

Beginning to pick up

Conditions are slightly better this morning and the surf is too. Knee to waist high with fair to poor shape. SSW wind is here and gaining momentum providing some light to moderate surface ripple. 8 people out with the SUP stroking into most of the waves. Not that he's being a jerk, just that that's the sort if equipment needed for this morning's offerings.

Bleak

Is the best word to describe conditions, weather and the surf. Knee to waist high dribblers masquerading as surf. South wind is causing severe morning sickness and the sky is overcast and dark. 2 people out. Not much going on this morning surf wise. But despair not for I hear that something big this way is coming. By mid week.
