Unexpected!

Except for all the stinking, filthy, infectious urban runoff, conditions are very good. Offshore wind, waist to chest high, fair shape and no one out.

The lefts are peeling flawlessly down the reef Larger, five wave close out sets every 10 minutes or so. If not for the sick condition of the water, this would be an amazing morning to go out.

Not A Surf Day!

Total Victory at Sea conditions. SW wind at about 6 knots with higher gusts. Jumbled up mess of shoulder to head high junk. And there is no one out. Not Kenny, not Chuck, not Luke; only a lobster boat slowly pitching and yawing it's way north.

High tide right up against the bluffs had already partially eroded the sand berm and it's about to send a City trash can seaward. Guess I should go down to the beach and make sure that doesn't happen.

Wait, I can see someone out at 11th street and, geeez louise, someone is paddling out here! He went in by the ramp and already has been pulled to the lifeguard tower to the south and he is less than 100 yds out.

Windy, Big and Bumpy

Strong west wind, large (head high+) waves and generally poor conditions are keeping the crowd factor way down this morning. One guy in the line up with 5 trying to make it out. There is a huge rip right off the ramp to the beach; your best bet to make it out with a minimum of pummeling

Basically the complete opposite of conditions (except for wave size) of the past 3-4 days. Great while it lasted, eh?

Friday in Paradise

Foggy with 200-300 yard visibility. Just enough to barely make out the line up. Clean conditions, waist to chest with some head high sets. An hour off high tide, sets are walled up. Other than that the shape is fair Crowd of about 20. Kenny, Chuck and Luke among them.

Lobster season starts midnight tonight. Anyone heading out for a night dive? If so, let me know, I'd love one of those tasty crustaceans!

Chuck just snagged a really nice left. Looking good my man!
