A bit more mellow but still some juice left. Clean conditions and a smaller crowd. Chest to shoulder with head high + sets. Fair to good shape; sets are mostly walled up, some nice left slides on the in between stuff. Enough of a lull to slide out after the sets, if you're crafty and speedy. 11th street is consistently larger and meatier. Another good surf day at 15th street. Tide is flowing in to a 4.8 at 10am and will the ebb to a 1.6 low at 3pm.

Another morning with a classic San Diego SW summer swell. Surf is consistently shoulder to head high; going plus on the sets. Shape is a tad walled up but if you know the reef at 15th street you can be in position for really nice, fat left hook. But you gotta wait for it. You and about 75 other people who have the same idea. Crowd is evenly spread out across all the line ups which is not good news for those of you who like the "secret" south reef take off zone. A little further south still, 11th street is larger and meaner. Looking to be in the 8-10 foot range; with another 50 or so scrapping for that. Tide is still flowing in to a 4.4 at 9:30am and then ebbing to a 1.8 at 2:30pm.

A very clean and at times large WSW swell this morning. Shoulder high is the norm with head high plus on the sets. Even larger at 11th street. Good to fair shape. Glassy conditions and a large crowd clumped together on the reef. The southern line up is not as crowded. This is a classic summer swell and if you can thread yourself through the crowd you're going to get at least a few really nice rides. Tide is high, ebbing to a 2.1 low at 1:30pm.

Wind! Moderate south wind is messing with conditions this morning. Moderate chop, crumbly weak surf. Knee to waist high zone. Somewhat larger on the sets. Dominate westerly swell, poor to poor + shape. Tide is low, flowing to a 4.6 high at 10:30am. About 15 people out. This guy says it better than I ever could.

Baby you're looking confused...
South swell has completed dropped; replaced with a chaotic westerly windswell. Lumpy, directionless and sending mixed signals. Knee to waist high with no shape, no juice nor fun. No wind. Warm water. 10 people out. Tide is incoming to 4.9 around 10 am. A below average surf day.

Long, large walls. How long, how large you ask? From11th street to 15th street long; 7-8 feet large on the sets. More south swell showing this morning but still too much west in it for Del Mar. So, it's mostly closed out with long, long lulls. Light NE breeze, good sea surface conditions. About 40 people out. Tide is high but on its way out to 1.8 low around 11am.

Breezy, choppy and large. Long, walled up and in the shoulder to head high range. + on the sets. Westerly wind has put some significant chunk on the water and crumble on the surf. There are some short (very short) corners to pick off between sets but the set waves have you going nowhere fast. I'm calling the shape poor to poor plus. Not as crowded as yesterday but still a lot of people out: about 25. Tide is high but on the way out to a 1.2 around 10am. The sun is out!

Crowded!
40+ in the line up this morning. Surf is in the waist to head high zone; a tad lined up and closed out. Really closed out. Eating up surfers closed out. Too much west and not enough south swell angle. And the dropping tide is going to magnify that. Good surface conditions. Warm water. And some people hassling each other on shore about who said what to who and "...I wasn't in your way, you were in mine..." and shit like that. Be prepared and...

Another dreary, drippy day. Thick marine layer and drizzle this morning. Low tide and some rather weak, drained, crumbly lines. Knee to possibly waist high; poor shape. Moderate chunk on the water; light southerly breeze. A 0.2 low tide at 8:15am flowing in to a 5.3 high at 3pm. 10 people out. Lots of beach for walking this morning.

Wet, windy and whimpy. Strong westerly wind has just about blown out the surf this morning. Knee to waist high with plenty of crumble and no juice. Poor conditions overall. Plenty of drizzle with periods of actual rain. Tide is still dropping to a -0.3 at 7:30am and back up to a 5.0 at 2pm. No one out. No video this morning, too much drizzle; cam is not waterproof.

Windy, low tide, small. Significant chop on the water, crumble on the waves and funky low tide waves. Waist high at best; ankle high at worst and poor shape. Moderate onshore wind. Some light drizzle. 6 people out. A below average surf day but above average beach exposure for walking.

Thick air (humidity checking in at 76%); small surf. Tiny to nearly nonexistent surf this morning. Ankle to thigh high rolling in under a somewhat lumpy sea surface. Light SW breeze beginning to stir. Tide is low but on the rise to a 4.3 at 10:20am. 12 people and 4 SUPers out.
Anyway, the late afternoon thunder storms should be spectacular.
